About the Contest
“Sustainability: New Perspectives For A Wicked Problem” is a European competition organised under the scope of the Green Hive project. The competition engages Green Combs' members in co-creating solutions to sustainability challenges by using resources and tools developed within the Green Hive project, while promoting sustainability knowledge and competences.
Through this European Competition, the Green Hive consortium aims to achieve the following objectives:
• Encourage VET providers, teachers, trainers, and learners to develop innovative learning programs that align with the GreenComp, fostering more inclusive, digital, green, and ecosystemic practices in VET;
• Facilitate collaboration between VET providers, learners, and external stakeholders (including community groups, NGOs, research institutions, and policymakers) to co-create sustainability solutions ;
• Empower learners by involving them actively in the design and development of solutions, ensuring that their needs and interests are integrated into the process.
• Share the results of the competition to highlight and disseminate best practices and innovative approaches in VET, serving as a source of inspiration for VET providers across Europe;
• Use the competition results to inform a comprehensive study on the application of the GreenComp framework in VET centers, offering valuable insights, lessons learned, and recommendations for practitioners and researchers;
• Involve community groups, NGOs, and research institutions in the voting process to engage a broader community of stakeholders in shaping the future of vocational education and training;
• Recognise and celebrate participants' efforts and achievements by awarding certificates or plates to the most-voted videos at national and European levels.

• Develop real-world solutions – Hubs will apply their skills to design innovative projects with a tangible impact on sustainability.
• Showcase your work – The winning team’s project will be featured in a publication which will be developed by the consortium, gaining European-level visibility. Plus, the top team will be invited to the Final Conference to present their solution.
• Engage the community – By involving stakeholders, hubs will extend their impact beyond the competition, driving meaningful change.
How Does It Work?
Each Comb will take on a real-world sustainability challenge, diving deep into research to uncover root causes and explore best practices. With the support of Green Hive’s innovative tools, teams will brainstorm creative solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and bring their ideas to life. Solutions will be presented through a short video and made available for public voting on the project platform. The most outstanding project will be awarded and celebrated in the publication, gaining visibility and inspiring future changemakers!
